All UK legacy companies are aware of the aims of The Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR) to strengthen market integrity by creating clear accountabilities and standards for individual behaviour; SM&CR requires firms to be clear on individual responsibilities of senior managers and requires those senior managers to take responsibility not just for their own actions but for what happens in their areas of responsibility.
