IRLA YPG Meet the Mentor, with networking drinks

SUMMARY

This session will appeal to all those who wish to gain an understanding of the IRLA YPG mentoring scheme and will give attendees the chance to network with their peers and to meet senior members in the industry.
The mentoring scheme provides a platform for members of the IRLA YPG to find a mentor within the IRLA community whose attributes or experience may help with immediate or development requirements. There is a wealth of knowledge, experience within the IRLA community, there are people willing to share their experiences. Mentoring can be a valuable and enjoyable learning tool for both the mentor and mentee, and this scheme can take on any form agreed between the parties.

IRLA do not prescribe rules regarding the format or duration of mentoring, however skills sought from the mentors may include:

• technical expertise and help
• ‘how to’ advice
• general career advice
• conflict resolution
• market knowledge
• managing people
