What is IRLA?

Why should my company join IRLA?

Q.

How can my company join IRLA?

Please go to the ‘join now’ button at the top right of the webpage or click here to view and print a membership form. Once you have completed the application form, send it via email to secretariat@irla-international.com. You will be sent an invoice and once payment has been received – there is a 28 day limit – your membership will commence.

Q.

How much is annual membership of the association?

The investment in staff training, frequent legacy news reports, current and relevant knowledge as well as connectivity for all those registered with us starts from as little as £795 including VAT.

Q.

My company are associate members, how am I included in that membership?

Associate Membership includes 9 named staff, if you are 1 of those staff, you are automatically a member. If you are not, you will need to speak to your IRLA membership coordinator. You can find out if you are member and who your coordinator is by emailing secretariat@irla-international.com.

Q.

My company is a full member does that automatically make me a member?

Yes – all employees of a Full Member company can be included in the corporate membership. To check if you are listed as a member contact secretariat@irla-international.com.

Events & Registration

Q.

How do I find details of a specific event such as date, venue and speakers?

Select the relevant event on the events & training page You will be able to ‘click here for the programme’ which will open the event programme and includes all event details, such as date, venue, time, speaker and cost if applicable. The programme will also include the number of CPD hours and terms of booking.

Q.

How do I register for an event?

Select the relevant event on the events & training page. Click on the button ‘click here to register’. You will be taken to a pre-set email address registrations@irla-international.com  No booking is guaranteed until the payment is received; bookings will be void if payment is not received in the period requested on the invoice.

Where do I find out about CPD training?

All of our training sessions warrant CPD time as we follow a criteria set in place by the Chartered Insurance Institute. You can access a full list of course by visiting our events & training page. Each event clearly states the number of CPD hours available both on the event page and the programme.

 

Q.

Is there a limit to the number of delegates from the same member company at any one event?

We will sometimes need to limit the number of delegates from each member company, particularly if the capacity is small and it will be 1 if you are a Sole Trader, 2 for an Associate and 4 for Full Members. However, this will always be made clear on the programme and we always try to accommodate members who take priority over non-members.

Do I have to be a voting member to attend the IRLA AGM

The IRLA Annual General Meeting is open to ALL members. The AGM is always followed by an update from our regulators, so a useful thing to attend. If you are not a Full Member (voting member) this does not prevent you from a. nominating a director, b. standing as a director / volunteering for a committee, or c. proposing activities for IRLA

Q.

If I have to cancel my place at a paying event , what are my options?

Payments must be made to Insurance & Reinsurance Legacy Association Limited by BACS prior to registration acceptance. Reflecting IRLA’s own financial commitments, cancellation and refund of monies paid will not be permitted any later than 12 weeks prior to the event. In the event of cancellation less than 12 weeks prior to the event, or any non-attendance, all monies will remain due, if not yet paid (but IRLA will refund any monies that it is able to obtain by way of reimbursement). If the cancellation of any IRLA event occurs due to circumstances beyond the control of IRLA, any monies paid by you will not be refundable (and any monies due from you will remain due) to the extent that IRLA has paid or has committed to pay the costs of running the event and cannot itself obtain reimbursement. In all circumstances where interest exists IRLA will attempt to run the event once again. IRLA is not responsible for any travel or other costs incurred by registrants. NO liability is assumed by IRLA for changes in the programme date, content, speakers or venue. Transfers may be made up to 24 hours before the event date but will attract a charge.

What are your office opening hours?

The Secretariat office operates between 08:00 and 18:00 Monday to Thursday.

How do I access the list of IRLA members?

As a member, you will be able to view a list of IRLA members which is updated regularly. You will need to login to the member’s area then click on the ‘member’s area’ button on the home page.

Can I add my company news to the IRLA website?

We welcome any news items from members, please email anything that you would like us to include on our website to secretariat@irla-international.com. A pdf document is preferred. Or watch out for our invites from our communications team.
